The planning application to determine development on land west of Corby will be taken by members of the Development Control Committee on Thursday 26 September. The proposals, which were submitted by a consortium of Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes, were submitted back in 2017 and identified as part of the Local Plan.

Subject to planning approval, the West Corby development will see the building of up to 4,400 new homes over the next 10-15 years, from smaller first-time buyer homes to larger family homes, 46,850+ sqm of commercial space, secondary and primary schools, a 100-bed care home, health centres and community facilities which will bring up to 3,000 jobs to Corby.

As well as houses, jobs and public services, this scheme will deliver a combined infrastructure package worth £122.3 million, proving substantial benefits and securing much needed improvements to the local highways network.
